1. ‘IN BRUST WE TRUST’: That was the quote on Twitter immediately after the horn had sounded and Barry Brust had secured his second consecutive shutout, and extended his run of statistically perfect goaltending to 171 minutes and 41 seconds – pretty impressive stuff! Brust, a huge Toronto Blue Jays fan, may have been inspired by a HUGE trade made by his favorite MLB squad earlier in the day. November 13th, 2012 won’t be forgotten soon by the 227 pound goalie/linebacker!
2. KOLANOS INTO THE HISTORY BOOKS: Krys Kolanos moved the all-time goal mark for a Heat player to 34, with his fourth of the season on Tuesday night. The Calgarian scored 30 goals in just 47 games last season, and has four goals this year in eight games played, which puts him one snipe ahead of Cam Cunning’s mark which took 121 games to amass; talk about efficient, that’s less that half the games played! Kolanos looks right at home playing with Byron and Sylvester to his right, a trio that reeked havoc last season in the final quarter of the season.
3. BAD HOSTS: The Heat extend their season-spanning home point streak to nine games. Wow. Last season this club struggled to put back-to-back home wins together with any regularity until the Spring, this year they have 16 of a possible 18 points on home ice. The Heat have scored 31 goals on home ice, while allowing just 11 against. That’s right, a Scrooge like eleven stinkin’ goals against in nine games at the AESC… Again, Wow!
