1. EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA: For the third time in 48 hours the Heat needed extra time to determine a winner in Texas. After an OT win vs. Texas (Austin) and an 11-round shootout win vs. San Antonio, the Heat found themselves on the losing end of a quick strike that took just five seconds to find the back of the net from the drop of the puck of four-on-four – courtesy a rocket from Jason Zucker. Like three games in three different cities over three days wasn’t enough hockey to begin with!

2. SEVENTH HEAVEN: The point for reaching overtime gave Abbotsford the seventh point of the five-game road trip. The Heat retain top spot in the AHL with the win and have now banked 28 points through 18 games. The Heat have 12 wins and a pair of regulation, overtime, and shootout losses. The Charlotte Checkers sit two points back of the Heat, but have played once more than the North Division leaders.

3. OLSON TWIN: For the second straight night, Brett Olson potted a goal. The rookie forward now has four on the season and has been a bright spot amid a season full of great news (not easy to do!). Olson and Captain Quintin Laing have played opposite centres Paul Byron and Ben Street (and played with both tonight) this trip and the result have been arguably the most consistent and trusty line for Troy G. Ward.
