1. HELLBERG A HANDFULL: After a 16-5 edge on the shot clock after 2-0 minutes and not a goal to show for it, it was apparent the Heat would have a stiff test in 6’5″ Swedish net-minder Magnus Hellberg. In his first year in the AHL Hellberg has begun stealing starts from trusty and solid Jeremy Smith. Hellberg made some big saves late and earned his second straight ‘First Star’ honour in the win, after earning his first AHL shutout last weekend.
2. MAX RESULTS IN 2013: Rookie Max Reinhart is putting together a good looking 2013 portion of the season. The eldest of the three Reinhart brothers has posted eleven points in eighteen games in the new year after posting just four points in his 31 games played in the 2012 half of the season. Reinhart had a team high four shots, finished +1 and scored the Heat’s lone goal of the game in Tuesday’s loss in Milwaukee.
3. REST ON THE WAY: The Heat are amid a 14-game in 24-day stretch of the season – the busiest of the 2012-13 schedule, and have earned an off-day tomorrow. The Heat return to action on Friday when the club opens a three-in-three in Peoria. Here’s to hoping the squad is recharged and ready to regroup in this busy weekend that lies ahead.
