1. GROUNDHOG DAY IN WISCONSIN: It felt like deja vu all over again for the Heat who outplayed the Ads for parts of the game, but could not cash more than one scoring chance. On Tuesday night the Heat lost 2-1 with goals allowed in the second and third period. Tonight, Tyler Ruegsegger’s sixth of the season put the visitors ahead, but it wouldn’t be enough for a Heat win as the Admirals chipped away (again with goals in the second and third) before icing the contest with an empty-netter.

2. HELLBURG AT THE HELM: Magnus Hellberg earned his fourth straight victory with 23 saves on 24 shots and has looked the part of an everyday AHL number one goalie. Hellburg beat the Heat twice this week allowing just two goals on 54 combined shots. Established puck-stopper Jeremy Smith has suddenly lost three in a row, is Hellberg the ‘Number 1′ for the Admirals the rest of the way? He has made a strong case this week; hat’s for sure.

3. RUEGSEGGER REVVED UP: Tyler Ruegsegger’s sixth of the season opened the scoring and was the lone tally for the visitors. The 25-year-old rookie has now scored five of his six goals in the New Year and showed fire all night with physical play. After a hit on the end wall went uncalled from Juuso Jarvinen in the late stages of the game, Ruegsegger and Jarvinen had to be seperated by the officials and both were given 10 Minute Misconducts. On a night where three boarding calls and an interference call were assessed to the Admirals on borderline hits, Ruegsegger had seen enough.
