1. DYNAMIC DUO: Brett Sutter and Zac Dalpe wreaked havoc on the Heat all night, as the pair combined to score on the power play, twice while short handed and once at even strength as they drew assists on linemate Matt Beca’s first goal of the season. Dalpe (2G-2A) and Sutter (1G-3A) each finished the night with four points and were the top two stars of the game.

2. JONESIN’: Blair Jones had a team-high four shots in the loss, and was the most physically engaged forward in the game from a Heat perspective. The newcomer was thrust in to action on the power play and despite not having lined up with his counterparts before tonight’s game (morning skate was gassed) found ways to contribute. He nearly scored a highlight reel goal on a drive to the net down the left.

3. ONE LEFT IN MARATHON STRETCH: The Heat will close a 14-game in 24-day stretch tomorrow with the rematch against the Checkers. The stretch has seen a pair of ‘three-in-threes’ three international flights, and the longest stretch between games has been just two days and 12-of-14 games have been part of back-to-back sets or three-in-three junctures. Yikes. They’ll need some time off after Saturday’s contest.
